How do you ensure your tattoo pops for years to come? It’s all about aftercare.

Aftercare for your new tattoo is vital to the outcome of its appearance. TX Legends Tattoo CO. and its artists strive to offer its clients the latest in sterilization techniques to eliminate the possibility of any future infection or the transmission of diseases between you and your artist. Hospital ointments and germicidal soaps combined with hypoallergenic single us products and proper bandaging are just a few of the steps we have taken to ensure the best possible outcome of your new tattoo. Remember, aftercare is your responsibility so please take it seriously and read the following:

  • Sterile bandage should remain covering your new tattoo approximately two hours, no longer than four.
  • For at least the first six weeks, minimize exposure to filth
  • Remove bandage and gently wash area with a non-scented antibacterial soap, then rinse with cool water. Never use a washcloth to cleanse the area and do not bandage again. Pat or blot dry with a clean towel
  • A small amount of antibiotic ointment such as “A&D Ointment or Aquaphor” should be applied three times daily. Follow the recommended use and dosage listed on the product label.
  • Discontinue use after one week
  • “Curel or Lubriderm” lotion should be used three times daily in place of the ointment after one week
  • Avoid excessive sunlight, tanning beds, chlorinated or sea water, prolonged soaking for the first two weeks. Clothing should no restrict or irritate the tattooed area
  • Do not pick or scratch at the tattoo. Doing so makes the tattoo lose its color.
  • The client should consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of an infection or allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the application of the tattoo to the artist
