The aftercare of your new tattoo is vital to the outcome of it’s appearance so please read the following information thoroughly!! TX Legends Tattoo Co. and it’s artists strive to offer it’s clients the latest in sterilization techniques to eliminate the possibility of any future infection or the transmission of diseases between you and your artist. Hospital ointments and germicidal soaps combined with hypoallergenic single use products and proper bandaging are just a few of the steps we have taken to ensure the best possible outcome of your new tattoo. Remember, aftercare is your responsibility so please take it seriously and read the following:

• Sterile bandage should remain covering your new tattoo approximately two hours, no longer than four.
• For at least the first six weeks, minimize exposure to filth.
• Remove bandage and gently wash area with an antibacteriral soap, then rinse with cool water. Never use a washcloth to cleanse the area and do not bandage again. Pat or blot dry with a clean towel.
• A small amount of antibiotic ointment such as “A&D Ointment”, “Bacitracin”, or “Betadine Ointment” should be applied three times daily. Follow the recommended use and dosage listed on the product label. Discontinue use after approximately one week.
• “Curel” or “Lubriderm” lotion should be used three times daily in place of the ointment for approximately five days.
• Avoid excessive sunlight, tanning beds, chlorinated or sea water, prolonged soaking for the first two weeks. Clothing should not restrict or irritate the tattooed area.
• As your tattoo heals, you may experience an itching sensation.
• Do not pick or scratch as you will pull the color out!!!
• The client shall consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of infection or allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the application of the tattoo to the artist and to the department at 1-888-839-6676.

oral piercing aftercare instructions

Your new piercing has an average healing time of 4-6 weeks or longer. Precautions to eliminate the risk of infection or disease transmission between you and the piercer have been taken through the use of proper sterilization, sterile bandaging, the use of antibiotic ointment, and germicidal soaps. Our piecing jewelry, needles, are used one time only and disposed of immediately after piercing is complete. Aftercare is your responsibility so please read the following care instructions carefully:

Rinse your mouth thoroughly with Listerine or another A.D.A. accepted oral antiseptic after each meal or snack and after drinking any beverage and smoking. Also avoid any dairy products for the first 72 hours.

When brushing teeth,  lightly brush around the piercing.

Avoid tendencies to play with the jewelry or “click” it against your teeth as this can chip the enamel of the teeth.

Use Glyoxide only on sides of piercing that are inside the mouth. Follow the recommended directions and dosages on label. Discontinue use after 7 days as prolonged use may irritate the mouth.

As with any piercing, scarring may occur and you may not have the proper instruments necessary to successfully remove the jewelry without damage to the area.

The surface or facial side of piercing should be gently cleansed with an antibacterial soap 3 times daily for approx. 8-10 days or longer.

The client shall consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of infection or allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the application of the piercing to the artist and to the department at 1-888-839-6676.

Surface Piercing aftercare instructions

Your new piercing has an average healing time of 4-6 weeks or longer. Precautions to eliminate the risk of infection or disease transmission between you and the piercer have been taken through the use of proper sterilization, sterile bandaging, the use of antibiotic ointment, and germicidal soaps. Our piercing jewelry, needles, and instruments are made of the finest hypoallergenic piercing metals. All needles are used one time only and disposed of immediately after piercing is completed. Aftercare is your responsibility so please read the following care instructions carefully:

• Gently cleanse the piercing three times daily with an antibacterial or anti-microbial soap by rotating jewelry back and forth through soapy piercing. Do this several times. Thoroughly rinse with clean water again by rotating the jewelry. You may apply and antibiotic ointment such as Bacitracin sparingly twice a day for the first three days.  Apply ointment with Q-tip or other sterile applicator. Discontinue use of ointment after three days. Never use Alcohol or Hydrogen Peroxide on a piercing!!
• For at least six weeks, minimize exposure to filth.
• Avoid chlorinated water, river, or seawater, or prolonged soaking for the first ten days. Avoid articles of clothing, which may bind or irritate the piercing also for the first ten days. Surface piercings are considered puncture wounds and should be treated as such.
• As with any piercing scarring may occur and you may not have the proper instruments necessary to successfully remove the jewelry without damage to the area.
• Genital piercing- abstain from sexual activity as injury or infection may occur until the healing process is complete.
• The client shall consult a health care practitioner at the first sign of infection or allergic reaction, and report any diagnosed infection, allergic reaction, or adverse reaction resulting from the body piercing to the artist and to the department at 1-888-839-6676.
